Join Our Team as Lead Market Gardener at Hungry World Farm!
Are you passionate about sustainable farming, caring for the earth, and growing nutritious food? Hungry World Farm, a 175-acre nonprofit farm in Tiskilwa, IL, is looking for a Lead Market Gardener to join our mission of nurturing the earth, nourishing people, and inspiring others through education.
As Lead Market Gardener, you will play a key role in managing our established market garden, which produces vegetables, herbs, and flowers on more than ½ acre of no-till raised beds. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team to cultivate healthy food while caring for the soil and the environment.
What You’ll Do:
– Lead all aspects of market garden planning, production, harvest, marketing, and distribution.
– Implement soil and ecosystem-supporting practices to ensure healthy and sustainable food production.
– Engage with guests, visitors, and fellow team members, sharing your knowledge and passion for regenerative farming.
– Design and lead educational workshops and participate in farm events, including tours and field days.
– Manage and maintain market garden infrastructure, including greenhouses, walk-in coolers, wash/pack areas, and more.
– Oversee a small team of part-time workers, volunteers, and interns, guiding them through daily tasks.

– Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage all aspects of market gardening.
– A commitment to ecological health, soil regeneration, and sustainable practices.
– Enthusiasm for education and sharing knowledge with others.
