Arimo Ensign Ranches Summary Arimo Ensign Ranches operates on more than 250,000 acres through Bannock and Cassia counties of Idaho as well as Box Elder County of Utah on a mixture of Private, State, BLM, and Forest Service Land.  The ranches operate as a commercial cow/calf operation supported by a robust winter range, a grow yard and a large, irrigated farm.

Arimo Farm Summary The Arimo Farm operates in Bannock County Idaho.  Farm Headquarters is approximately 2 miles from the town of Arimo, Idaho (Population 355).  Arimo is home to the Marsh Valley Middle & High Schools grades K-12.  Pocatello is approximately 30 minutes from the farm.

The farm’s primary objective is to grow quality feed for weaned calves as efficient as possible. The farm operates approximately 1,500 acres of irrigated farm ground through center pivot, wheel line, handline, and flood irrigation.  This farm operates in conjunction with the 150 acre 6-mile pivot near Malta, Idaho.

Position Summary – Will work directly with the Arimo Ranch Manager, Feedlot Foreman, and the 6-mile Foreman to develop goals and strategies for farm operations while performing the following duties:

Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and Supervision
    1. Work with Arimo Ranch Manager, AER General Manager to develop long-term farm strategy and plan
    2. Assisting in the execution of farm event calendar for entire year including the following:
      1. Planting/Dirt Work Schedule
      2. Irrigating Schedule
  • Pest Control Schedule
  1. Harvesting Schedule
  2. Maintenance Schedule
  1. Contribute to developing annual operating budget
  2. Coordinate work efforts with Arimo Ranch Manager for the following:
    1. Irrigation
      1. Supervise irrigation crew to ensure proper irrigation on entire farm.
    2. Farm Work
      1. Dirt work
      2. Pivot track and erosion maintenance/control
      3. Pest Control – Pesticide Licensing
        1. Gopher Eradication
      4. Planting
      5. Harvesting
    3. Irrigation
      1. Ensure all irrigation infrastructure is maintained and in good working order
      2. Knowledge of water right usage and timing of water
  • Equipment Maintenance
    1. Ensure all equipment is functional
    2. Create and manage Equipment Maintenance Schedule
    3. Follow up with personnel ensuring equipment is properly serviced and maintained
    4. Take advantage of deals for oil and filter sales
