Evandale Farm
Evandale Farm is searching for a one-of-a-kind farm manager to join our small team PA (1/2 hour outside of Erie). Based on a 425-acre farm. Our work is grounded in regeneration, repair, and healing of both the land and the people that depend upon it.
Evandale Farm is supported by a multi-spoke business model, including hospitality, and community redevelopment. Evandale also aspires to be a laboratory to incubate new practices for a reimagined economy based upon regenerative relations with our land, food, and one another. We are focused on becoming a profitable farm but are also deeply committed to bridging work that invites conventional farmers to participate in these approaches as well. Evandale will create replicable blueprints and models for how an upcoming wave of regenerative efforts can transition from conventional agriculture, implement restorative business stewardship strategies, and renew our soil and the nutritional content of our food. We are looking for a talented, creative farm manager to help co-lead our regenerative agriculture processes. Although we are small, we can offer competitive compensation based on experience, will offer quality housing on the farm, and a company vehicle.
Position Overview
The Farm Manager will play a critical role in developing a full regenerative farming system that will transform the property through a combination of interlocking systems – e.g., pollinator systems, multi-species rotational grazing, regenerative food plots, controlled system mushroom farming as well as seeding throughout forests, greenhouses and hoop houses, etc. We envision a farm alive with pollinator systems. Where we will be able to harvest some of the most nutritionally dense food locally available and walk into mushroom fruiting trailers to collect beautiful blue and pink oyster mushrooms. Visitors to the land will be surrounded by livestock continually moving across the property to access the healthiest grasses and forages possible, while contributing to the remediation of the soil. The underbrush throughout the forests will have been thinned due to animal grazing, creating the possibilities for walking paths for further learning and conversation with the land. There will be greenhouses for transplanting seedlings, and rows of raised beds. The farm manager will help to set up regenerative systems throughout the property.
The farm manager will play a vital role in developing replicable systems that neighboring conventional farmers could apply to their own land. Evandale Farm is deeply committed to inviting conventional farmers to apply these methods to the land they steward.
