THE ROLE

The JK Community Farm is seeking a Vegetable Production Manager who will will oversee all aspects of vegetable production, ensuring sustainable, regenerative and efficient farming practices. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of chemical-free farming methods, and a commitment to community engagement and education. This position will report to the Executive Director. The ideal candidate is passionate about plants, growing, regenerative and sustainable development, and has the ability to work and communicate with volunteers. This is an opportunity for a driven individual to contribute to the long-term success at a rapidly growing, innovative, non-profit farm committed to food education and donating 100% of what we grow to food banks and pantries throughout Northern Virginia and DC.

QUALIFICATIONS Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy or a related field is preferred • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in vegetable production, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. • Strong knowledge of organic farming practices and principles • Excellent leadership and team management abilities. • Proficiency in operating and maintaining farm equipment. • Ability to thrive at work under minimal supervision/direction • Available to work weekends and work flexible hours as required • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
