The ranch is located approximately 12 miles NNE of Big Timber, MT. Population 1,700 and K-12 school.
The cattle herd is comprised of cow-calf, yearling and grass finishing age classes as well as bison.
Grazing practices apply the tools of adaptive, non-selective forage management; striking the balance of
animal health and performance, and optimalrange and soil health. Thismanagement balancesthe
necessity for ecosystemhealth through regenerative agriculture.
Livestock are handled using low-stress livestock handling techniques. Grazing is managed using refined
grazing planning and implementation thatrequires understanding plant and soil health. Grazing
pressures are applied through temporary fencing and the ability to handle livestock to impactthe
landscape. Irrigated pastures are managed to maximize forage diversity & soil health for the benefit of
growing and finishing livestock. Regenerating soils and maximizing plant diversity are paramount
to producing world class meat from the ranch.
Position is supervised by the Ranch Manager.
Experience and Education: No previous experience is required. But a dedicated interest and willingness
to be a teamplayer, open-minded and eagernessto learn and adaptto a ranch environmentis
essential. Ability to work alone and be a self-starter, orin a teamsetting isimportant. Having is
positive, can-do attitude every day isimperative.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Temporary electric fencing, install and removal in difficult terrain. This will be a primary
responsibility and requires adapting to terrain, creativity in laying out fencing,
taking direction from other employees, ability to use smartphone technology to
layout and track fence locations, understanding or willingnessto learn DC electricity
and keeping fences electrified, care oftools and equipment
• Ensure salt and mineral are available to animals at all times. This includes hauling,
tracking inventory and data entry
• Operation of heavy equipment including skid steer with attachments, backhoe, tractor,
telehandler, excavator and dump truck
• Property cleanup including garbage, fence removal and weed control
• Fence maintenance on existing barbed wire, woven wire, high tensile electric fence and
poly fence
• New fence construction including high tensile electric fence and barbed wire
• Stockwater line install, assist with pipe layout and welding/ fusing as well as backfill
• Noxious weed control. Thisrequiresidentification and control usingmicronutrients,
vinegar, manual removal, and targeted grazing using cattle and sheep for suppression of
the weeds
• Safe operation of ATV and UTV for ranch work and weed control
• Corral maintenance and construction
• Assist with water development including water tanks and underground waterlines
• Building maintenance including sweeping, organizing, painting, and general needs to
maintain outbuildings, shops, barns and houses
• Operation and maintenance of small engines and tools. Chainsaw, weed eater, and
small power tools
• General preventative maintenance including oil changes and greasing of equipment
• Mow and trim lawns
• Interestin learning how to operate and maintain center pivots,sprinklerirrigation
equipment and flood irrigation
• Assist to manage livestock for high health, low-stress, and genetic excellence with
minimal purchased inputs
• Assist to implement adaptive, regenerative grazing practices that optimize profit per
acre
• Ensure safe, reliable and secure operations, procedures, equipment and infrastructure
• Participate in WOTB (working on the business) meetings
• Communicate and coordinate with the ranch manager, ranch staff, and Owners to
sustain commitment to culture
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn welding, plasma cutter, cutting torch, and shop
equipmentfor metal fabrication and maintenance
• Assist with grazing planning, range monitoring and data entr
• Assist with calving, branding and feeding
• Vaccinate, livestock using syringes and hypodermic needles and use of a hydraulic

squeeze chute
• Occasionally assist with marketing team in moving frozen product, unloading and
receiving, setup and participation with advertising and farmer’s market
• Occasionally assist with guest services, setup, takedown and contribute to events that
are held on the ranch

Physical Demands:
Work conditions willrequire exposure to environmental extremes and will often require employee
to complete work regardless of the given conditions. Some work will include dusty conditions and
airborne particles in shop and outdoor work. Employee will often need to lift and carry 50-100
pounds. Terrain and daily work conditions will vary. Work duties will include walking, climbing, and
working in uneven ground conditions. The daily duties will also include extensive time on atv, utv,
and occasionally horseback.
Compensation:
Hourly rate of pay, to be determined based on experience.
