Adaptive Grazing: Implementation and Observation Field Day
August 18, 2023
Host Farm: Israel farms and Diamond I Cattle Company
Join Understanding Ag for an in-field hands-on grazing event where we will help other producers use the power of observation and understanding to improve the net profitability of their operation.
Topics will range from the basics of fencing to implementing adaptive stewardship grazing that should suit all levels of grazing experience. This event will drive home the importance of the 4 ecosystem processes which in turn help build resiliency into your operation as well as future and near-term economic benefits.
Host farm, Larry Israel and Riley Israel, Diamond I Cattle Co, will have great examples of grazing warm season annual cover crop mixtures as well as introduced perennial warm season natives of different ages. This will be an excellent opportunity for all producers to see how adaptive stewardship has been implemented and the effects of these systems.
After the field day there will be a Top of the Ozarks (TOTO) pasture walk on the Israel Farm that is open to all who would like to
The United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 7 through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources has provided partial funding for this project (G23-NPS-05) under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act.
